This project was a unique opportunity that came to Southern California Restaurant Design Group mid-way through construction. Partnering closely with Chris, the VP of Development, and the franchisee, we quickly immersed ourselves in the operational flow of the kitchen and determined that a reimagining of the original design was essential to meet the team’s needs.
Through a series of collaborative virtual meetings, we redesigned the kitchen live—making real-time decisions with the client, franchisee, and general contractor. This included a complete revision of the layout and key equipment specifications to create a highly functional, efficient space tailored to the operational workflow.
What makes this project stand out is not just the open and streamlined kitchen design, but also the striking front-of-house aesthetic. With bold graphics and a sleek color palette, the space evokes a distinctly NASA-inspired vibe that connects the branding to the customer experience.
One of the greatest challenges was working against the clock to finalize the design while construction was already underway. Despite the time constraints and live collaboration format, the process felt second nature to our team.
We’re incredibly proud of the results—not only did we deliver a high-performance kitchen tailored to the needs of the operations team, but we also brought the client’s vision to life. From a black-and-white drawing to a fully installed, operational kitchen, this project exemplifies our commitment to design excellence and client satisfaction.
