CasaDami

CasaDami is a charming, small-scale tapas restaurant designed to bring a taste of Italy to Orange County. For this project, Southern California Restaurant Design Group partnered with Atosa to outfit the kitchen and prep area with high-quality equipment and refrigeration. The bar area was designed using Perlick and John Boos products, while Manitowoc provided the ice machine.

One unique customization involved modifying a three-compartment sink to accommodate a glass washer underneath, ensuring efficiency in the compact space.

This project presented some significant challenges, particularly with plumbing and ventilation. Due to the presence of businesses above the restaurant, the hood system had to be installed outside in a fenced-off area rather than directly overhead. Additionally, the high-tension flooring required multiple X-rays to determine where drain lines could be cored, as the space is situated above a parking structure. To work around these constraints, we redesigned the bar and kitchen layout to accommodate floor sink placements, even creating an above-grade floor sink for bar equipment.

Bringing this vision to life required extensive collaboration with designers, consultants, and landlords—an effort not typically seen for a project of this size. This was truly a dream project for the owners, reflecting their passion for Italian cuisine and hospitality.
