Southern California Restaurant Design Group (SCRDG) supported the development of the first Goop Kitchen location in the greater San Diego area, located at One Paseo in Del Mar, through foodservice design, equipment specification, procurement support, and construction administration services. The project involved the adaptive reuse of a former Tender Greens restaurant, with SCRDG strategically incorporating the existing custom stainless steel scullery package to preserve valuable infrastructure while creating an efficient workflow tailored to Goop Kitchen’s operational and culinary needs. Scope included modifications to the existing CaptiveAire exhaust and ventilation system with the addition of evaporative cooling to the make-up air unit, refurbishment of the existing Imperial-Brown walk-in cooler and entry door assembly, and installation of a Crysalli chilled and sparkling water dispensing system, along with utility and MEP coordination throughout the buildout. The finished space features a curated equipment package from industry-leading manufacturers including RATIONAL, Winston CVap, Southbend, Imperial, Continental Refrigerator, Turbo Air, Atosa, Manitowoc Ice, John Boos, New Age Industrial, Empura, and Crysalli. Through thoughtful adaptive reuse, targeted infrastructure upgrades, and careful equipment integration, SCRDG helped transform an existing restaurant space into a highly functional operation built to support Goop Kitchen’s commitment to quality, consistency, and operational excellence.
