After 10 months of renovations, The Hake reopened in October of 2016. This gourmet seafood restaurant in the heart of downtown La Jolla boasts panoramic ocean views and a beautiful, all new 1,200 square foot kitchen.
Southern California Restaurant Design Group was brought in to The Hake project to help create a more functional and efficient kitchen. The renovation involved gutting the existing space down to the floorboards which essentially doubled the footprint of the kitchen. With that, came the need for careful planning of equipment, prep areas, and storage to maintain the most efficient flow of the kitchen workspace.
Through their extensive knowledge and access to suppliers, SCRDG was able to provide equipment that met the needs of the kitchen while keeping costs low. The Hake’s GM, Dan Valerino commented that the kitchen design build was one of the easiest phases of the renovation project. He attributes that to SCRDG’s attention to detail, commitment to the client’s vision, and overall expertise in kitchen design services.
