Jose Andres Group – Bazaar Mar

Southern California Restaurant Design Group worked with the Jose Andres Group to open their newly remodeled kitchen, Bazaar Mar, located in The Shops at Crystals on the Las Vegas strip. The beautiful design includes a kitchen and dessert bar located on two levels with a wide variety of food service equipment for the staff to provide exquisite entries and tasty sweets for locals and travelers from around the world. Account Executive, James Robinson, handled the pre-construction and procurement of the foodservice equipment, while our project manager, Alvaro Nunez Ramirez, successfully executed the installation details in the field.

SCRDG collaborated with the management and Beverage Director of the new Santa Monica Sandbourne Hotel to design and implement updated equipment layouts for the Hotel Lobby Bar and Restaurant Bar. The team handled the design process, secured Health Department approvals, and provided and installed the necessary equipment to complete both bars.
In addition, SCRDG executed substantial remodeling in the main kitchen, which involved replacing and refurbishing sections of the cook line and chef’s counter. We also upgraded the hood fire system and ductwork to meet current regulatory standards.

CasaDami
Newport Beach, CA
CasaDami is a charming, small-scale tapas restaurant designed to bring a taste of Italy to Orange County. For this project, Southern California Restaurant Design Group partnered with Atosa to outfit the kitchen and prep area with high-quality equipment and refrigeration. The bar area was designed using Perlick and John Boos products, while Manitowoc provided the ice machine.
One unique customization involved modifying a three-compartment sink to accommodate a glass washer underneath, ensuring efficiency in the compact space.
This project presented some significant challenges, particularly with plumbing and ventilation. Due to the presence of businesses above the restaurant, the hood system had to be installed outside in a fenced-off area rather than directly overhead. Additionally, the high-tension flooring required multiple X-rays to determine where drain lines could be cored, as the space is situated above a parking structure. To work around these constraints, we redesigned the bar and kitchen layout to accommodate floor sink placements, even creating an above-grade floor sink for bar equipment.
Bringing this vision to life required extensive collaboration with designers, consultants, and landlords—an effort not typically seen for a project of this size. This was truly a dream project for the owners, reflecting their passion for Italian cuisine and hospitality. The Whaling Bar

The Southern California Restaurant Design Group collaborated with La Jolla’s renowned Whaling Bar at the La Valencia hotel to breathe new life into its iconic space. The mission was to restore the timeless charm and allure of the original Whaling Bar while elevating it to new heights. Through meticulous coordination, our team ensured that every detail was executed. Despite the constraints of a compact area, SCRDG sourced a bespoke cooking suite by Heston, exquisite John Boos wood block countertops and other distinctive finishes. The seamless flow of the kitchen and the overall design honor the grandeur of the historic hotel and its legendary bar.

Southern California Restaurant Design Group partnered once again with Kitchen Designer, Alec Bauer of KRBS and Creative Space’s VP of Development, Alana Fallon, to launch Etra, an Italian restaurant adjacent to Telegrama. The redesign features an exquisite millwork-designed bar wrap and SCRDG’s back bar refrigeration bases. SCRDG supplied all back-of-house items, handled pre-construction, procurement of foodservice equipment and installation. Stay tuned for more upcoming collaborations between these groups.

Ramsay’s Kitchen

Southern California Restaurant Design Group procured all food service equipment for Ramsay’s Kitchen by Gordon Ramsay, newly opened in Oklahoma City’s popular Chisholm Creek district. Ramsay’s Kitchen offers a casually refined menu, including British ale and onion soup, shrimp scampi, and chicken Milanese, alongside Ramsay’s signature classics such as beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding. In addition to sourcing equipment, SCRDG oversaw installation, started up the items in their kitchen spaces and worked hand in hand with the client and their contractors to provide expertise to efficiently complete the project.
