Porta Via’s second and newest location is situated in the prestigious Caruso’s Palisades Village located in the Pacific Palisades, California. Porta Via is a transplant from Beverly Hills, wherein their popular flagship restaurant is located on Canon Drive.
Southern California Restaurant Design Group was asked to price the project with delivery, installation and full on-site coordination.
Our team began by reviewing the food service drawings to identify any possible inconsistencies or coordination issues with other trades. We quickly identified several trouble areas. The back bar needed to service the designer’s eloquent upper structure design, so we strategized to make sure the beer and wine taps did not interfere with any intricacies of the design element.
In the kitchen, we organized the specialized hood and air scrubber system to make sure all trades were coordinated. This was done to assure the most efficient connections to the control box. Since the kitchen was tight on space, we took advantage of the wall space available. Our team designed a shelving system above the salad and prep area to utilize this space for the pass-through of plated dishes. From sizing prep spaces to wall shelving, we were able to accommodate the free space around the kitchen and create the most efficient work space possible.
